Trying tagging again

Today I was able to set up my account and able to add some tags for bookmarks. Jennifer helped and she made it so easy to do. I think I will be using this feature quite a bit. I found it very easy to work with and like having the sites tagged for easy finding. The buttons are such a great feature when added to the toolbar. Sometimes the instructions seem much more complicated than the exercise really is. Thanks Jennifer!!

Tagging and Del.icio.us

It has been a while since I have had time to participate in the 23 things exercises. I tried to work with the tagging and Delicio.us but had a hard time understanding. We are working as a group and decided that it was a waste of time to continue since we are all stumped. We have had several interruptions and it makes it difficult to concentrate.

Rollyo

I created a Rollyo search site for my blog. It was quite a challenge. I had trouble adding it to my blog. If you read under 23 things on adding to your blog, it was quite confusing to me. With Susan's help I was successful. I wanted the Rollyo emblem to transfer but I am still working on getting that on my blog page. I love to experiment with the web sites but have a limited time to work on it.

LibraryThing

I think the LibraryThing is great. It will be very useful in helping find info for cataloging. I will have another source to look up subject headings. I really like being able to add my favorite books. Tagging is great for categorizing. The book discussions and comments are both interesting and informative. If I ever get time to read, I will be adding my comments about my selections.

This was such a fun time creating the image. I learned allot about how to add the image to my blog. I did not have the layout selection tab on by blog template. I somehow had two of the same avatar images coming up. I learned how to delete the blog entry. After several times of entering and deleting the blog entry, I was able to delete one of the images. I will use different web sites to get images to use. I love looking at other participants blogs and seeing the many interesting images they have added.

Getting the hang of adding RSS feeds

I found this section the most difficult so far. I have added a few news feeds and weather feeds to my bloglines. I feel pretty confident now that I am getting the hang of it. I was able to find the feeds but had trouble finding out where they went once I subscribed to them. I found them and added them to my favorites. I will keep working at this and try to master the task.

RSS news feeds

I am trying to understand the RSS feeds for adding to my blog. I think I am going to have to read the information again and try to get more time to participate. I feel a little lost at this point. I have the basic idea down but I not sure I am understanding fully. I am going to try to get the Washington Post news headlines sent as a experiment. I will post how that turned out later.

Flickr thing

What a days work!! I thought I would never learn to add a picture to my blog from "flickr". I have been calling it "flicker" until the Queen corrected me. I have everything bookmarked now so I think I can find my way around. Adding to favorites or bookmarking makes a big difference. We had a few group huddles and that was fun trying to find where we had been and where we should be. I know I will be using flickr to add personal pictures from my family collection. It took quite a bit of time to get the hang of adding but I am going to keep practicing and learning. I lost my draft when I clicked "preview" (started to panic) but discovered that the draft is saved automatically. Real problem was I forgot to click "hide preview".

The start of my 23 things journey

I am about to begin my journey of learning 23 things. I hope the remainer of the road is as simple as the first 3 steps. I am looking forward to figuring out how to add photo's. It should be fun and quite an experience learning with my co-workers.
